Kay Shook is a multidisciplinary artist attending the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, pursuing a BFA in Sculpture. Kay is primarily a Sculpture artist; however, she has experience making art using printmaking techniques and various photo processes. Using screenprinting, Cyanotypes, and various methods of casting, she explores the expression of emotions and experiences of being a Trans Woman, as well as other traumatizing events that have happened in her life. She grew up in a small town in Iowa, which shaped her view on the world today, especially being a Trans Woman. This small town led her to search for more opportunities which is what led her to MCAD and Minneapolis, where she currently resides. She likes long walks on the beach, having a crisis due to overthinking her emotions, and sleeping in bed next to her partner.
